ECHIPA TERRE DES HOMMES MOLDOVA ARE BIROUL CENTRAL ÎN CHIȘINĂU.
I am Elena, the Country Director of Tdh office in Moldova. From the moment I have joined Tdh in 2018, I felt proud to be part of a team which is changing the child protection system in the country. Working for and with children has enriched me both professionally and personally. I am an economist and political science specialist, with previous working experience in development cooperation for donor organizations. I am also a happy mom of two girls and in my spare time passionate about cooking.

I joined the Tdh team with the conviction that each of us can contribute to ensuring the rights and well-being of children.
Being a strong believer in the power of little things than could change the world, I consider that even the smallest changes for the better can have a big impact on children and their families over time - I have learned this in my quality of M&E Officer.
During 9 years of experience as a M&E officer, I understood that the monitoring and evaluation process is like taking a good photo – we need to “zoom in” and “zoom out”, “looking for the right light and angle” to approach the needs of children and their families, to analyze them in detail, and find the proper measure of intervention in order to ensure the fulfill of their rights and well-being. I enjoy making good photos!

My “love story” with Tdh began in March 2004, when the first team of the foundation arrived in Moldova, led by the wonderful Jean Luc Imhof.
My background includes pedagogy experience - several years of teaching French at the Institute of Arts in Chisinau, Moldova; freelance translator and interpreter; producer of children's programs on a radio station in Provence, France; administrator at French and Belgian NGOs.
I am happy to be part of a beautiful team, which brings together very different people, but with the same human and professional values and principles, and the same desire to bring positive changes in the lives of children from Moldova.
I am the “proud mamma” of logistics at Tdh Moldova and I always do my best to offer my colleagues and our beneficiaries the best working conditions and for the activities we carry. I jokingly present myself as the Tdh Moldova monument, because I am part of the team since its very beginning. “Today matters” is my motto.

I have a background of a lawyer; I am a father of two kids and I love hiking and cycling. My feeling was always to stay where I feel purposeful and I love what I do. So in 2009 I’ve quit my career in law and joined Tdh team. I have an experience of over 15 years on designing and running training with various groups from children to grown up children or simply adults. I enjoy discovering and learning together with participants through experiential and participative methods. In Tdh I have been always combining project management, consultancy and field work indifferent national and international projects. My training profile is Child protection specialist, expert in Movement, Games, Sports and creative activities for psychosocial development of children as well as Child Safeguarding. In 2015 I have added to my experience the humanitarian layer, working in emergency settings in Ukraine. I believe adults are responsible to help children and provide them with safety, play and development. That is exactly what I’ve been doing together with my colleagues from Tdh Ukraine. As I am a person that gives meaning to human relations and teams, I consider Tdh Moldova one of the best teams with amazing, professional, creative and dedicated people in it. Glad to be a part of it on my life journey!
